Radio Controlled Models, sources of where to get & how to build them. R/C Warships are 1/44th, 1/96th, and 1/72nd scale models of real warships. They are radio controlled and they actually battle one another. Some are as long as 12 feet and weigh as much as 150 pounds. They shoot from BB's to 1/4" ball bearings, depending on the scale. Front Range Battle Group
The Front Range Battle Group is a wacky bunch of guys who have formed a club in Colorado which fights under the Model Warship Combat, Inc. (MWC) rules. Each ship is equipped with one or more BB cannons which fire a BB(hopefully) that is capable of putting a small hole through an opponent's hull which is built out of 1/32" balsa wood. If too much damage is taken, or an equipment failure occurs, the ship takes it's rest in Davy Jone's locker.

The North Texas Battle Group builds, sails, and fights 1/144-scale radio-controlled model warships in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. CO2-powered cannon are used to fire ball bearings into balsa-wood hulls. Ships are damaged - even sunk! Then they are recovered, patched, and sent back into battle!

Rookie Allied Training Squadron
The Rookie Allied Training Squadron is formed to build and battle 1/144 scale warships according to the rules of the International R/C Warship Combat Club. Membership includes enrollment in national IR/CWCC and is especially oriented to parent/child teams. RATS is an ideal way to enter the hobby, allowing senior members of IR/CWCC to provide coaching through the building and battling process.

S.C.R.A.P. Southern California Rapid Attack Patrol We are the Southern California chapter of Model Warship Combat We battle 1/144th scale model warships from WWI and WWII with working BB cannons and bilge pumps. Yes, we actually do sink each other but our ships are designed to survive the rigors of combat and return to the water in less than an hour.

Yes, and they really do sink. They battle in relatively shallow water so they can be retrieved easily. Everything is waterproofed and the only thing hurt is their pride and a few patchable holes. Sometimes over a hundred holes (100)
